New swimming pool to open in Olympic year

Crosfields is delighted to confirm that planning approval for their new swimming pool project was granted by Wokingham Borough Council in January. The state of the art pool is the next large scale development project for the School.

Pupils

At Crosfields we believe passionately that we are all part of one lively, happy community, although the school is divided into departments according to age.

The Pre-Prep department caters for children aged between 4 and 7 years old.  The 4 year olds (Reception), have their own building (Chestnuts), which has 3 classrooms and its own spacious playground.  Each class caters for a maximum of 20  and is staffed with a teacher and nursery nurse.

In Years 1 and 2 (5 – 7 year olds), the children move to ‘Acorns’ and each class has a maximum of 20. The classes have both a teacher and a nursery nurse.

In Years 3 and 4 (The Junior School, 7 – 9 year olds), the children move up to the first floor of Acorns where the class size becomes a maximum of 20.  At this stage the uniform changes and the pupils begin to wear the distinctive school uniform.

In Year 5 pupils have their own teaching block (Stillman), and their form teacher teaches them for many of their subjects, although they do have specialist teaching for French, Information Technology, Games, Swimming and Music.

From Year 6 the pupils are taught by specialist teachers for all subjects.
