Autumn Term

The children will explore COLOUR and FORM will be studied, including:

• Primary colours
• Pastels
• Clay work

Spring Term

This term the children will explore the elements of  TEXTURE and PATTERN.

They will each design and build a house from a range of materials.

We will also be encouraging them to:

• Identify patterns in everyday life
• Review what they have done and what others have done

Summer Term

The children will explore the elements of LINE and COLOUR.

A range of work will be covered including:

• Using a range of materials to explore the drawing of a variety of different lines
• Create own abstract art, mixing own colours
• Drawing a variety of fruit and vegetables looking carefully at the lines and shapes
• Learning about Claude Monet and his impressionist style
• Painting a picture using the techniques of Claude Monet
• Developing clay skills to make a simple tile using a variety of tools

The children will:

• Be taught to recognise and name a variety of fruit
• Learn basic food handling and practices
• Design and make a fruit salad
• Know that fruit and vegetables are part of a healthy diet
