Spring Term

This term the children will explore the elements of TEXTURE and PATTERN.

They will be taught to:

• Identify some of the wide range of textures used in the natural and man-made world
• Understand the importance of texture when producing work
• Identify the wide range of textures in the bark of a tree and use clay to make an impression
• Select and organise shapes to make patterns through simple printing processes

  They will each design and build a house from a range of materials.

 We will also be encouraging them to:

• Identify patterns in everyday life
• Review what they have done and what others have done and say what they think about it
