New swimming pool to open in Olympic year

Crosfields is delighted to confirm that planning approval for their new swimming pool project was granted by Wokingham Borough Council in January. The state of the art pool is the next large scale development project for the School.

Autumn Term

This term the children will explore the elements of LINE and FORM

The work covered may include:

  • Observational drawing (still life)
  • Sketching (people, faces)
  • A study of the artist Mary Cassatt, which will lead to them producing examples of work in her style
  • Colour mixing- shades and tones
  • 3D work

Spring Term

This term the children will explore the elements of  TEXTURE and PAINTING.

The work covered will include:

Collage work using a wide variety of materials to reinforce their work in Science

  • Weaving using colour to show the different layers of the Earth
  • Producing Fractions work to consolidate their work in Maths
  • Painting and Texture work to go on display with their Literacy work
  • Watercolour painting to refine their skills

Summer Term

This term the children will explore the elements of COLOUR in painting and printing.

The work covered will include:

  • The use of different techniques to apply colour to paper.
  • Looking at the use of colour in some of the work of Vincent van Gogh.
  • Improving skills when modelling with clay
