Clock Project
The pupils work through the design process during this project. The clock is made predominantly from plastic but at the same time offering plenty of scope for creativity and flexibility.

Programmable Buggy
Pupils produce a buggy, they then program the buggy using a computer, so that when it bumps into an obstruction and a micro switch is compressed. They can instruct the buggy to reverse and move away from the obstruction. The program/buggy can be tested reprogrammed/improved.

Pinball Machine
Pupils produce a Pinball Machine. They design their own Firing Mechanism and background design and a scoring system. They construct the Pinball Machine from the materials provided. They will evaluate their work, both during the making process and at the end of the project.
Bridge Building
In teams of three the pupils design and build a bridge to span a distance of 500mm. The bridge must be a minimum of 90mm wide. The bridges will be tested to failure, by loading weights on top of the bridge. The bridge that supports the most weight is the winning design.
