Geography is the study of the earth’s landscapes, peoples, places and environments. It is quite simply, about the world in which we live. (Royal Geographical Society)
At Crosfields we aim to develop this idea throughout the school, by following the National Curriculum through to the end of Year 5, while Years 6-8 concentrate on the Common Entrance syllabus.
In the early years, Geography is covered through topics such as Barnaby Bear’s travels around the world; the home region and rainforests.
In Years 6-8, pupils study a wide variety of human and physical geography topics from global location to volcanoes and map skills to weather, to name but a few.
Throughout the school, various projects are completed to complement the topic.
