Under 13 Finalists November 2008
Football coaching in games lessons is well-staffed and well-resourced with all groups having access to one ball per pupil. All pupils are given the opportunity to learn skills and to participate and progress with peers of similar ability. We endeavour to give all children the opportunity to play competitive matches against other schools.
Crosfields is currently running the following football teams:
- Year 3 – Six 6-a-side teams (squads of 8 pupils per team)
- Year 4 – Six 6-a-side teams (squads of 8 pupils per team)
- Year 5 - Five 7-a-side teams
- Year 6 – Three 11-a-side teams
- Year 7&8 – Six 11-a-side teams
With specialist coaching starting so early, high standards are achieved at all age levels, and in 2003 Crosfields won the IAPS National prep Schools 6-a-side tournament.
