Netball on the all-weather pitch

Girls begin to play netball in Year 3 on the school’s 2 outside and 1 indoor courts. They start with the High 5 version of the game where the players rotate to play all the different positions. This gives them the opportunity to learn the skills necessary for all round court play. They continue to play High 5 in Year 4 but as they move up to Year 5 and 6 they progress to the full 7-a-side game. Here the girls are encouraged not only to develop their skills but also to consider and experiment with a variety of tactics. All of them are involved in competitive fixtures, playing in teams appropriate to their ability and standard of development.
