Crosfields Junior School (Year 3 and 4),consists of over 100 children who are taught in six mixed ability classes, three for seven year olds and three for eight year olds. There is a strong sense of community as members of a form, a year group and a Junior School. We take pride in the achievements of all our children and encourage a positive attitude towards work and reward effort, achievement and behaviour accordingly.
The classrooms are situated on the first floor of the Acorns building. Alongside spacious and well equipped classrooms there is the library, an ICT room and access to a large hall on the ground floor. We also have use of a Design Technology area and Food Technology area housed in the nearby Chestnuts building.
The children are largely taught by their own form teacher who is also responsible for their pastoral care. They follow a wide and varied curriculum with a strong emphasis on Literacy and Mathematics. They are taught for French, Music and Sport by specialist Senior School staff.
There are opportunities for the children to extend their musical ability through participation in an orchestra, recorder group and choir specifically focusing on their age group. Games are considered important and opportunities for participation in teams are extensive. We offer several after school hobbies which include a swimming squad and a drama group.
