Crosfields is delighted to confirm that planning approval for their new swimming pool project was granted by Wokingham Borough Council in January. The state of the art pool is the next large scale development project for the School.

Chestnuts

ChestnutsThe Reception classes moved into the Chestnuts building in September, 2002. Chestnuts was specially designed for the Foundation Stage and is linked by a covered walkway to Acorns where Year One and Year Two are taught.

Each class has its own spacious room with a variety of resources that the children are encouraged to use independently.

All three classes share access to a large creative area for messy activities involving sand, water and paint.

There is a separate kitchen with child friendly sinks and work surfaces, and a DT area which is used for clay, junk modelling and design and technology projects.

The colourful and well-equipped playground is used for free play and to support and extend all round learning through planned activities.

For specialist curriculum areas Reception children use the Swimming Pool, the Sports Hall, the Music Room, the ICT Suite and the playing fields, and they have lunch daily in the Dining Hall.
