Science

ScienceThe purpose of Science at Crosfields is to provide a stimulating environment which will help nurture the child’s natural curiosity to understand the world around him.

We try to achieve this is through as much practical experience as possible since we believe that learning is more enjoyable and effective if the child is physically involved. The use of ICT and a variety of different media is also an important resource to help achieve the same result.

Crosfields closely follows the National Curriculum , especially in Foundation Stage and Key Stages 1 and 2 where the QCA Schemes of Work provide strong guidelines. The final two years (7 and 8) are concerned with Key Stage 3 and more importantly the Common Entrance syllabus which forms the focal point for the culmination of a boy’s science study at Crosfields. Science is taught as topics throughout the school which together cover the three disciplines of Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
