Nurse Sue Nicholas

RGN (NMC)

CrosfieldsSchoolMar2020150Nurse Sue joined Crosfields in 2019, but grew up in Cheshire and trained as a Regsitered Nurse at the Royal London Hospital in 1986.  Deciding early on in her career to specialise in operating theatres, Sue undertook additional trauma training and has spent much of her career in major NHS trauma hospitals such as John Radcliffe in Oxford and the Royal London Hospital.

More recently, Sue enjoyed a brief spell working as a Practice Nurse in a busy GP surgery, but perhaps the most rewarding was her work as a school nurse at The Oratory School and Bradfield College.  Sue's ten years in school nursing has expanded her knowledge base even further, and in some cases, given her the opportunity to put her trauma skills to the test!

Outside of her busy and fulfilling nursing career, Sue has three daughters aged between 13 and 25.  A qualified beauty therapist, Sue has always enjoyed an active lifestyle and participated in county swimming as she grew up.  It was at this time that Sue also volunteered for a school that educated children with disabilities, where she took the pupils on holiday and taught them how to swim.  Nowadays, she loves nothing more than walking her cocker spaniel dog, and cooking and travelling with her daughters.

Nurse Sue is available between 8.30am and 4.30pm on school days to provide medical care and first aid to pupils.  She is always happy to discuss any concerns regarding your child’s health either by phone or email; her email address is This email address is being protected from spambots. On the days that Sue is not in school, the class teams are able to provide first aid cover and can administer prescribed medications providing the appropriate forms have been filled in.  These are available on the website or at the school office.
