In November, our keen Year 5 and 6 mathematicians took part in the highly popular national PMC competition run by the Mathematics Association.
The PMC is not designed to be just another test in the school year. The Challenge encourages enthusiasm, boosts confidence in mathematics and shows the different ways in which questions can be asked. It focuses on problem solving as a means of helping pupils develop their reasoning skills.
Today, the highest scorers at Crosfields were awarded with Bronze, Silver and Gold Certificates. Well done to everyone who took part!
At this stage there is not a national comparison how well our pupils have performed. However, we are all waiting for the names of the pupils who will be invited, by Mathematics Association, to take part in a Bonus Round, the second and the final leg of the competition. The names of those children who are invited will be sent to us in early January.
