Year 8 were fortunate to attend the Henley Literary Festival recently to hear renowned author, Anthony Horowitz talk about his new book in the Alex Ryder series, Never Say Die. The audience were enthralled by his animated discussion about how he plucks ideas from everyday life for his stories, how he solves problems when encountering ‘writer’s block’ and how some of his characters are based on his villainous teachers from when he was at school!
Horowitz also invited the children in attendance to come up with part of the story for his new book, which really fired up their imaginations. During the book signing, the students were able to engage in conversation with the author while he wrote personal messages to them, and he seemed particularly taken with how smart our uniform looked! A great morning out in Henley and an encounter with a fantastic author that I am sure many of our children will remember for long while yet.
