Crosfields girls and boys in Year 8 enjoyed a thrilling five-day residential to Cornwall recently which saw them undertake a whole host of exciting outdoor pursuits around the beautiful Cornish coastline.
Although they had to do battle with changeable weather most days (hail, rain, wind, sun and cloud…and that was just the first day), the children approached each activity with enthusiasm and determination. For many, the activities pushed the children outside of their comfort zones but all were determined to complete each activity.
After their much-needed evening meal, the children spent the evenings playing beach games, crabbing in Padstow, and building architectural masterpieces from objects found on the beach after toasting marshmallows over a bonfire. The children thoroughly enjoyed spending hours of fun with their friends and made wonderful lasting memories. At the end of the week, the children worked together to write and perform a rap song for the instructors at the Manor House, which was accompanied by beatboxing, cartwheels, questionable dance moves (including the legendary ‘Worm’) and fits of laughter (mainly by the teachers…)
