Over the last few weeks children throughout the school have been getting into the team spirit as Crosfields held its annual Sports Days. From the smaller children in Nursery through to the older children in Year 8, friendships were pushed to the side in favour of the children's house colours and teams, and with bright and sunny weather on all three occasions, the school playing fields were awash with colour.
The children took part in a wide variety of athletic activities including the long jump, high jump, shotput, discus and javelin. For the younger girls and boys in Nursery, a series of games were played including egg and spoon races, mini hockey, and jumping races.
Parents, teachers, friends and pupils all cheered each other on, and for children in Years 3 to 8, the afternoons were topped off with a series of exciting relay races that culminated in a presentation by Headmaster, Craig Watson. "All three days had a competitive but collegiate and supportive atmosphere, and it was an absolute joy to watch the elation on the children's faces as they crossed the finish line; a feat that was harder for some more than others."
