Chicks Hatch in Reception

early years

The Reception children have had some very special visitors in school recently. Having waited patiently for the chicks to hatch from their eggs, the girls and boys watched with fascination as they emerged from their shells. The children then sat calmly to observe the chicks more closely and were able to gently hold them if they wanted to. This has been an incredible experience for the children and enabled them to learn about life cycles and growth in a very special way.

"I liked holding the chicks. One slept in my hand. It was the girl. She was soft and her feet tickled me!" remarked Harry from Reception S. Cute!
