Children in Year 1 had the most amazing day in the woods recently, enjoying the use of three different Forest School outdoor learning sites within the woodland around the Crosfields grounds.
Down at Robin Wood, which is Crosfields main outdoor classroom, the girls and boys had a super time popping corn over an open fire, threading leaf mobiles and making dens in and around the woodland, all under the supervision of the Year 1 teaching team and Forest School practitioners.
Meanwhile, over in Squirrel Wood, the children created stick men and leaf crowns, proudly wearing their colourful creations during the day. They also made potions in cauldrons, decorated conkers and created mud faces on the trees. It was a wonderful opportunity for the children to take risks in a controlled environment, as well as learn independently in natural surroundings.
