Girls and boys in Year 8 enjoyed a super afternoon on the open water recently as their rowing moved up to the next level.
The small group of Senior pupils who take part in the Crosfields Rowing Club ventured over to Reading Rowing Club with Mr McCue who leads the co-curricular programme. After a tour of the boathouse and a briefing on the parts of the boat, the girls and boys were soon moving their boat along the Thames in the sunshine! It made for an exciting change to their usual training sessions which until now had been indoors in the Crosfields rowing studio. However, following successful capsize drills training in the school pool, the committed group of students were able to really put their skills to the test as they worked together to move the boat down the river.
