Making Time to Talk - Crosfields School

News

Parents of children in the Junior School enjoyed a talk from a children’s psychologist recently.

Dr. Liz Dawes of Every Mind Child Psychology visited Crosfields to discuss the effects of lockdown on children under the age of 11, with the ultimate aim of helping parents spot any early signs of anxiety and depression. With cases of mental disorders on the rise following the Covid-19 pandemic, Dr. Dawes outlined the symptoms to look out for, and ways in which parents can support their child if they are feeling worried or depressed. Dr. Dawes also shared information from the Co-Space study (https://cospaceoxford.org/) and provided some useful reading material for parents to read through at home.

It was an incredibly useful session and Crosfields wishes to express its gratitude to Dr. Dawes for spending time at our school. Crosfields parents can access the presentation notes here.
