The Arts at Crosfields

Crosfields has a fine reputation for art, music and drama. Music is taught throughout the school, plays and concerts are regularly performed in the theatre, and art is a thriving area across the school.

The School

At Crosfields School we aim to achieve a high standard of learning within a happy, caring, and stimulating environment. We aim to develop the particular aptitudes of each child and help each fulfil their potential.

The Senior School

In the Senior School, children work toward the Common Entrance Examination at thirteen, with all subjects from Year 6 onwards taught by specialist teachers, and the opportunity to learn an additional language in year 7 and 8.

Sport

Sport plays a big part in the school lives of all children at Crosfields. The PE & Games Department at Crosfields offers a varied, balanced and differentiated curriculum that gives all pupils the opportunity to experience a diverse range of activities.

The Junior School

Years 3 and 4 consist of over 100 children who are taught in six mixed ability classes, where there is a strong sense of community as members of a form, a year group, and a Junior School.

Pre-Prep

The aim of the Pre-Prep Department is to provide an exciting, stimulating and happy start to school life. Children are able to join us either in Nursery or Reception where they are instantly incorporated into the busy, vibrant life at Crosfields.

The Crosfields Community

The Crosfields Community includes children, teachers, parents, and all the many other adults who are involved in the day to day working of our school. At Crosfields we work very hard to create a happy, vibrant environment for our pupils.

Nursery

Crosfields' Nursery, 'Marlborough Lodge', is a light, bright and spacious detached building within the school's forty acres of stunning grounds. It aims to provide a lively and stimulating introduction to school for up to 26 girls and boys aged 3+.

Welcome to Crosfields School

Crosfields is a co-educational independent day preparatory school for children aged 3-13 years. Set in 40 acres of grounds on the outskirts of Reading, Berkshire, the school offers a high standard of learning achieved within a happy, caring and stimulating environment.

We hope this website gives you a flavour of what we have to offer, although there is no substitute for seeing the school in action. Crosfields holds termly open mornings and we also welcome private visits – contact us to find out more.
