Crosfields Remembers
Pupils across the Junior School and Senior School joined together in a poignant ceremony on Remembrance Day to remember those that died during the World Wars.
Children in Reception through to Year 9 neatly and quietly filed into the quad to listen to Head (2015-2023), Mr Craig Watson talk about our fallen heroes. Renditions of The Last Post, Reveille and I Vow to Thee were played by Senior pupils on a tenor horn and violin, marking the occasion beautifully.
In the Junior School, following their English lesson on WW1 poetry, Year 6 pupil Sparsh shared his poem entitled ‘A Poem of Remembrance’:
Death by the door
Was sadly on the moor
The army tried
And some survived
We respect what they did
As they hid, hid, hid
Peace is what they brought
As they fought, fought, fought
Poppies are what we wear
As we remember fearsome souls
Respect is what we give
Because they helped our goals.
