Crosfields believes in the Forest School developmental model and this is at the heart of our educational provision from Nursery through to the Senior School.

The school buildings are surrounded by 40 acres of beautiful Berkshire Countryside. Right on the outskirts of Reading, we also enjoy spectacular views over the town providing a contrast with the urban environment on our doorstep.

We have six Forest School sites, set amongst woodland habitats and fields, and a large, thriving, pond.

A beautiful setting for specialist teaching

Our Forest School leaders are qualified with the Forest School Association and organise a wide range of creative activities for children to enjoy, from bug hunting to stick whittling to making bird feeders and building dens.

We have seen for ourselves the benefits of outdoor learning for all children. Here are just a few….

  • Developing – problem-solving skills, and creativity.
  • Connecting – with nature through play.
  • Exploring – the environment around them
  • Exercising – enjoying the great outdoors to burn off energy and breathe in fresh air, feeding mind and body and preparing them for more educational adventures.
