At Crosfields, our dedicated staff work collaboratively to equip each pupil with an unquenchable thirst for learning. Our broad and diverse curriculum is taught by subject specialists which means every pupil is taught by passionate, inspirational teachers who are experts in their field. Lessons are carefully crafted with a combination of practical and study-based activities and are taught in a positive, stimulating environment. This means that we teach to the top, ensuring each individual is academically challenged and supported for every next step.

Our provision is enriched with a bespoke enrichment programme, allowing our pupils every opportunity to find their individual talents. Our school calendar is filled with exciting day and residential trips, all included within our fees. These activities are designed to broaden our pupils’ horizons, build confidence, and provide tangible real-world experiences.

Our classrooms are bright, spacious, and designed to stimulate learning and creativity. With stunning views of the Berkshire countryside, these spaces make school days inspiring for our pupils. We maintain small class sizes to enable us to focus on nurturing each pupil’s personal growth and development.

Achieving academic and social milestones is a collaborative effort. We establish an open and ongoing dialogue with our Crosfields families, sharing regular updates on progress and welcoming parental insights through regular communication. Should issues arise, we are ready to work together to devise strategies tailored to your child’s individual needs.

Years 3 and 4

Pupils in Years 3 and 4 are taught by their form teacher for the majority of their lessons. These years are crucial for building a strong foundation in academic subjects whilst developing the skills pupils need across the curriculum. We nurture individual aptitudes, foster a thirst for learning and ensure personalised provision benefits every pupil. This phase of the pupils’ exciting Junior journey secures their sense of identity and belonging, fully preparing them for the path ahead.

Our curriculum is enhanced by trips and an annual residential, which are all included within our fees.

Here’s a glimpse of what residentials our Year 3 and Year 4 pupils have to look forward to:

  • Year 3: Adventure activities at Calshot Centre including climbing, skiing, archery, and beach games.
  • Year 4: A trip to Ufton Court for historical battle re-enactments, a banquet, and archery.

Years 5 and 6

Year 5 brings new experiences with specialist teaching for all subjects. Pupils move from room to room and are taught by specialist teachers in specialist teaching rooms: such as our Junior science lab. Time with form teachers at the beginning and end of each day is part of our nurturing framework that supports pupils as they build on their personal organisation, self-discipline and motivation. This model ensures that pupils are adequately prepared for the pattern of study that they will experience in Seniors. In Year 6, our pupils are ready to take on the challenges of more leadership responsibilities.

Our many enrichment opportunities, trips and an annual residential, included within our fees, unlock potential and the key 21st century skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, collaboration and critical thinking.

Here’s a glimpse of what residential opportunities our Years 5 and 6 pupils experience:

  • Year 5: Outdoor adventures at Grittledon Activity Centre with climbing, archery, team building activities and forest skills.
  • Year 6: Exciting experiences at Celtic Camping, featuring surfing, coasteering, and paddleboarding.
