Offering support where it’s most needed

We offer exceptional pastoral care and our team is here to provide support to every child.

Children in the younger years share thoughts and ideas in Circle Time and our older children begin to discuss the bigger issues facing our young people in PSHE, which will be further developed as they progress to Seniors.

At Crosfields, we recognise that having a diverse pupil body adds value to our community.

We take a whole school approach to special educational needs and disabilities.

By spending time working with your child, we have specialist teachers and LSAs who can identify and respond to specific learning needs, as these begin to become evident. Partnering with you to deliver support, our Junior School SENCOs are based in The Hub. More about our whole school approach

Gaining an identity and sense of self-worth

We focus on helping children to develop the resilience and perseverance which will be essential to sustain them in the modern world – our ISI Report notes Crosfields particular strengths in this area.

Your child’s academic and social progress is achieved in partnership with our Crosfields parents and carers. This is demonstrated by us sharing regular reports and inviting feedback at annual parents’ evenings. If you have concerns in the meantime, we are on hand to discuss issues with you and jointly develop strategies around your child’s individual needs.

The Crosfields calendar features a variety of day and residential trips, encouraging our children to explore different environments, gain confidence and enjoy real world experiences, all included in our fees. To give you a flavour, in 2022 Juniors visited:

  • The Adventure Centre at Calshot, on Southampton Water/the Solent for our Year 3 pupils.
  • Year 4 explored Ufton Court – near to us in Reading and camping, reinforcing our philosophy of children enjoying the great outdoors.
  • Exploring the outdoors and putting learnings from the Forest into practice Year 5 pupils camped.
  • St Davids as part of the Year 6 curriculum trip.

Sharing successes…

We never cease to be amazed by the development and achievements of Crosfields children throughout Juniors and beyond. The success of our approach is demonstrated by our most recent ISI report which stated “the quality of the pupils’ academic and other achievements is excellent“.

Crosfields Juniors offers the perfect preparation for the next step in your child’s educational adventure, providing the tools they need for a smooth transition to Seniors across the Quad.

"Pupils throughout the school make excellent progress over time, and levels of achievement are high."
