We are committed to broadening access to the Senior School for high calibre students through our bursary programme.

We warmly welcome applications from parents who have children with significant potential but would not be able to afford full fees without financial support.

What is a bursary?

A bursary award is given to high calibre students whose parents are unable to pay full fees. The value of the award is means-tested and depending on financial circumstances, could be a high proportion or even full fees paid for by the school.

What does a bursary cover?

A bursary award covers school fees and in some circumstances can be extended to provide support with other costs such as providing a laptop.

Are there any other costs?

At Crosfields, our fees are inclusive of educational day trips, curriculum residentials, lunch, stationery, text books, many hobbies and Personal Accident Insurance. Parents are expected to be able to cover the cost of uniforms, travel to school and any discretionary activities such as music lessons.

How is it assessed?

Our Bursary awards are subject to financial means testing. This is carried out on our behalf by an independent third party but the final decision rests with our Bursary Awards Committee.

How do bursaries differ from scholarships?

Scholarships are not means-tested. They are awarded to those children who perform exceptionally well in either Academic, Art, Dance, Drama, Music, Sport or Swimming. For more information on Scholarships, click here.

When will I be assessed?

We ask the family to complete a Preliminary Assessment Form – available from the Bursar, Caroline Purdom, – in order that we can gauge the level of support that may be required. We would then ask the family to submit a formal application. This would need to be completed by the end of January.

When do we find out if we have been accepted?

Students looking for Year 9 entry will be assessed throughout the Spring Term. We will provide confirmation of any bursary award with the Offer Letter.

Does the bursary last for my child's entire schooling?

Bursaries are typically awarded within the Senior School from Year 7 - 11, but are subject to period review.

What is the deadline for submitting an application for bursaries to start September 2022?

Applications for bursaries should be submitted by end of January 2022 but late applications may be considered.

How do I arrange a visit to the school?
