Crosfields School is delighted to be opening its Sixth Form in 2028, an exciting new chapter in our history. Building on the strong foundations of our all through education, the Sixth Form will offer an inspiring environment where our pupils can thrive academically, personally, and socially as they prepare for life beyond school.
This new provision will reflect the values that define Crosfields: ambition, integrity, kindness, growth and a commitment to helping every pupil become the very best version of themselves.
Our Vision
Crosfields Sixth Form will be a vibrant and ambitious community in which academic excellence goes hand in hand with outstanding pastoral care. Every pupil will be known, valued, and encouraged to thrive as an individual, while their leadership, independence, and character are carefully nurtured. Learning will extend well beyond the classroom, offering a rich breadth of experiences that inspire curiosity and confidence. Our aim is for pupils to leave Crosfields ready to make a meaningful and assured contribution to the world.
The Sixth Form Experience
Our pupils will enjoy a varied and enriching academic programme, personalised support and mentoring, a rich co-curricular life and a range of leadership and service opportunities. Crosfields is known for its warm and inclusive community and our Sixth Form pupils will be expected to champion our ethos as role models to the pupil body.
The school day timings will follow current Key Stage 4 timings with pupils registering at 8.30am and lessons taking place until 4.30pm. Pupils will have the opportunity to leave the school site at set times throughout the day.
Academic Pathways
Our pupils will have access to a range of A Levels and BTEC qualifications. We are currently finalising the qualifications and subjects that will be offered and will confirm the full subject list, course outlines and entry requirements in due course. At Crosfields, we champion supporting each individual and our Learning Empowerment team will continue to provide the same high level of support that our pupils currently experience throughout the school.
The Sixth Form facilities
Plans are underway for dedicated Sixth Form spaces designed to support independent study, collaboration, social connection and specialist teaching. The Sixth Form Centre will be housed in Chestnuts, a substantial building near the Sports Centre. The building will be transformed to include catering facilities, social spaces, a Library, quiet and collaborative study areas, and dedicated Sixth Form classrooms. Work will commence on a full refurbishment of the building from early summer 2027 and we will share progress along the way. We are excited to be working together with our current pupils to plan spaces which are fully suited to their needs.
Enrichment & Co-Curricular Opportunities
Enrichment and co-curricular opportunities will continue into the Sixth Form and we are looking forward to seeing our Sixth Formers lead a range of activities and societies. Pupils will attend a range of local day and residential trips in addition to exciting abroad trips such as skiing, undertaking marine reef conservation in Thailand, Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award and more.
One of the benefits of an all through school are the leadership opportunities across Seniors and younger pupils alike. These are a really special feature of a Crosfields education. More information will be shared as programmes are confirmed.
Preparing for the Future
Our students will benefit from tailored university and careers guidance, support with applications and interviews, work experience and professional partnerships and pathways into apprenticeships, higher education, and employment.
Admissions and Entry
The deadline for receiving applications to join our first cohort in September 2028 will be in the Autumn Term of 2027.
