We operate a number of school transport routes for families who need assistance in getting to/from school
Crosfields School recognises the importance of reducing reliance on the car for the daily journey to and from school, not only to help reduce congestion and pollution, but also to improve safety and to encourage a healthier lifestyle. The ability to make responsible and thoughtful choices on ways to travel which balance personal convenience with the wider implications to the community and the environment is one of the skills the school is encouraging its pupils to develop and take forward into adult life.
For more information on our School Transport policy including Access and Car Parking see here.
In addition to providing school transport, we fully support pupils cycling to/from school and have many families who do so. All children must wear helmets and younger children are to be accompanied by an adult. We recommend wearing high visibility clothing and flashing lights. Pupils may change in to their uniform once at school should this be better suited to their journey (E.g. wet weather). The school has a safe place to store bicycles.
Crosfields is situated on the Shinfield Road, which has public bus stops served by routes travelling to/from Reading, Wokingham, Bracknell and Shinfield. www.reading-buses.co.uk/schools
