We are delighted to announce that Green Metro will now provide all of our school transport routes. With a proven record of reliability, safety, and punctual service—already trusted by several independent schools in the region—Green Metro has supported Crosfields through selected routes and sports fixtures, and now extends its home-to-school service to all pupils.

For route-specific inquiries, please contact the School Office at schooloffice@crosfields.com.

Public Transport

Reading Buses also serve Crosfields, offering convenient access via several routes. The Leopard 3 service stops directly at the school entrance, while other services (buzz 9 and claret 21) require a short walk from nearby stops. To help families navigate their options, Reading Buses created a detailed guide to travelling to and from Crosfields via Reading Buses.

Walking and Cycling

At Crosfields, we actively encourage sustainable travel. Walking, cycling, or scooting to school helps reduce traffic and emissions, contributing to a healthier community.

– Secure bike racks are available at both the main school entrance and the Sports Centre.

– We host Walk It Wednesdays once a month to celebrate and promote greener travel choices.

– Live too far to walk or cycle? Use our 5-minute walking bubble map to plan a drop-off point that allows your child to join in.

Award-Winning Sustainable Travel

We are absolutely delighted to share that Crosfields has been named Modeshift STARS Local Authority Secondary School of the Year 2024/25!

This prestigious national recognition celebrates our school’s ongoing commitment to promoting sustainable travel choices—including walking, cycling, and wheeling—as part of the daily journey to school. By achieving Modeshift STARS Accreditation, Crosfields has demonstrated a proactive approach to building a healthier, greener future for our pupils, staff, and wider community.

Out of hundreds of schools across the country, Crosfields is proud to be one of just 47 schools selected as Local Authority winners, making this achievement especially meaningful.
