The House System is integral to a child’s daily life, and their journey through Years 7-11 at Crosfields. Each tutor group is assigned to a House: Corylus, Ilex, Quercus and Salix. The pastoral care for each House is overseen by a ‘Head of House’ who forges positive relationships with children and their parents, maintaining effective communication and consistency throughout a child’s journey. Pupil led roles such as House captains, subject specific ambassadors or tutor reps also allow for effective peer-to-peer support and guidance.

The House Activity Programme is a series of events, competitions and creative opportunities. From House debating, House music, House football, to our annual House pancake race, there is something on offer for all pupils who want to get involved and represent their House. Life skills such as teamwork, creativity, resilience and leadership are all honed as pupils strive to challenge themselves within the safety of their House community.
