A Growing Legacy: Crosfields’ Second Cohort Sets the Bar High

Crosfields School is delighted to announce the outstanding achievements of its second cohort of GCSE pupils. With 39 Year 11 pupils sitting exams this summer, the results reflect not only academic excellence but also the school’s growing legacy of ambition, resilience, and community spirit.

Impressively, 99% of Crosfields GCSE entries were awarded grades 4-9, significantly above the national average of 67%. 71% of these grades were awarded at the top levels of 7-9, which is a 26% increase from 2024.

Several departments had impressive top grades of Grades 8 or 9 including History (75%), Computing (72%), Biology, Chemistry (both 63%), Physics (56%), Business, and Psychology (both 53%).

Our ‘value-added’ score, which represents the progress pupils make from their baseline starting point to their final outcome, is in the top 10% nationally which signifies that not only do we attain top outcomes, but that we support all pupils to make progress and achieve their potential.

Mrs Caroline Townshend, Head, said: “These results mark a significant step forward for Crosfields and reflect not only the hard work and resilience of our pupils but also the exceptional teaching and support provided by our staff. Crosfields is proving itself to be a superb choice for secondary education, combining academic excellence with the breadth of opportunity that develops confident, well-rounded young people.”

Mr Richard Ebbage, Deputy Head Academic (Seniors), said: “We are proud of each and every pupil who sat exams this year. The hard work and dedication were impressive to see; over a number of years and in particular over the exam period, and I am delighted for the pupils and staff that this has paid off in a truly outstanding set of results.”

Among the pupil highlights:

  • Ellie P-E: 3x Grade 9, 5x Grade 8, 1x Grade 7, 1x Grade 6

A number of pupils have also been awarded grammar school places or academic scholarships. We wish them every success in the future.
