Caroline Townshend to join Crosfields School as new Head
Following a rigorous recruitment process the Board of Governors is pleased to announce that, from April 2023, Caroline Townshend will be joining Crosfields School. Caroline’s appointment makes history for the School as the first female Head, joining at a pivotal time in Crosfields’ development. Mr Lewis, School Governor said “Caroline impressed the governing body immediately with her clear vision and strategies to ensure collaboration across the School. Caroline articulated a number of innovative plans that she will look to implement, from Nursery through to the senior school, and the Board of Governors looks forward to working with Caroline to see these come to fruition. Caroline’s interactions with both staff and pupils throughout the application process, demonstrated that their interests and wellbeing are at the forefront of her thought process and decision making, which aligns strongly with Crosfields aims and ethos.”
Currently Head of Eaton Square Senior School in Central London, Caroline grew up in California before moving to England to study GCSEs and A-Levels. She read Psychology at the University of Southampton, completing her PGCE at Goldsmiths College, University of London.
Commenting on her appointment, Caroline said “I am thrilled to have been appointed as the next Head of Crosfields School at a pivotal time in its development. During my school visits, I was highly impressed by everyone I interacted with. It is clear Crosfields has a welcoming and friendly community and my family and I look forward to joining next year.”

Over the next 12 months, Craig and the Senior Leadership Team will be working with Caroline to ensure a seamless transition. There will also be plenty of opportunities for parents, pupils and staff to meet with the new Head closer to the start of her appointment.
