Juniors

Welcome to Juniors

Juniors is where pupils grow in confidence, curiosity and independence. Our specialist-led teaching, vibrant curriculum and joyful community help every child discover their talents and embrace new challenges. With small class sizes, inspiring learning spaces and a culture that celebrates individuality, pupils feel known, supported and encouraged to aim high. This is a place where learning feels exciting, and where every child can thrive.

Learning that ignites possibility

Our specialist-led curriculum empowers pupils to explore, question and create. Lessons are enriched with hands-on activities, memorable trips and experiences that spark imagination and help children build confidence in their own abilities. With small classes and passionate, expert teachers, every pupil receives meaningful challenge, personalised support and encouragement to aim high.

As an all-through school, Crosfields offers smooth transitions and strong continuity. This approach allows children to feel secure, supported and ready to take on new challenges, academically, socially and personally.

Innovation at the heart of learning

Crosfields is committed to excellence in digital learning, and technology plays a thoughtful, purposeful role in Juniors. Pupils don’t simply use digital tools—they learn to use them responsibly, creatively and independently. Interactive whiteboards, specialist software and integrated digital platforms enrich learning across subjects. From Year 4, pupils have their own personal device, helping them to develop digital confidence and future-ready skills. Our digital systems also strengthen communication between pupils, families and staff, supporting a seamless learning experience.

A culture of care, belonging and diversity

Wellbeing sits at the centre of school life. Each year group is supported by a Head of Year and dedicated Form Teachers who know every child as an individual and provide both academic and pastoral care.

Crosfields is proudly diverse, enriched by many cultures, languages and perspectives. This diversity is a true school strength, helping pupils develop empathy, global awareness and respect for others. Our co-educational environment also nurtures collaboration and communication across genders—key skills for the future world.

Exceptional spaces, boundless opportunities

Set within 40 acres, Crosfields offers Juniors exceptional facilities and room to explore. Specialist spaces for Art, DT, Science, Drama and Computing inspire creativity and curiosity, while state-of-the-art sports facilities and weekly swimming support physical development. Bright, spacious classrooms overlooking the Berkshire countryside provide an uplifting place to learn.

Every day from 16:30–17:30, pupils can choose from a wide range of clubs and activities run by staff, at no extra cost. Trips, residentials, lunch and snacks are all included, ensuring every child can participate fully.

A joyful, inclusive community

Crosfields Juniors is a place where every child feels valued and at home. Pupils learn to appreciate individuality, embrace differences and engage with the wider world with confidence and curiosity. Through global awareness projects, collaborative learning and strong partnerships with our local community, we nurture empathy, open-mindedness and a deep sense of belonging.

Leadership and contribution are central to the Junior experience. Whether through pupil-voice groups, leadership roles or opportunities to mentor younger pupils, children develop responsibility and pride in their ability to influence positive change. Our House System connects pupils across year groups, encouraging teamwork, friendship and healthy competition.

Opportunities that inspire growth

From Year 3 to Year 6, residential trips give pupils the chance to explore, challenge themselves and build independence. Activities such as climbing, archery, water sports, team-building and historical reenactments foster resilience, creativity and personal growth, often creating memories that last long after the journey ends.

The ASPIRE learning profile sits at the heart of daily life in Juniors, encouraging pupils to give their best in everything they do, from the classroom to the playing field to the many wider opportunities available. At Crosfields Juniors, children feel celebrated, supported and inspired to step forward with confidence.
