Seniors Sport

At Crosfields, pupils in Years 7 to 11 benefit from a vibrant and varied sports programme designed to inspire participation, develop talent, and encourage a lifelong enjoyment of physical activity.

Our Senior pupils enjoy access to a broad selection of major sports, including football, hockey, rugby, netball and cricket, alongside multisport opportunities such as basketball, badminton, swimming, tennis and forest school activities. This flexible offer allows pupils to pursue their interests while fulfilling curriculum expectations, ensuring every young person can find a sport they feel confident and excited to engage with.

Weekly fixtures form an important part of school life, giving pupils the opportunity to represent Crosfields with pride. We compete in a full calendar of matches across all core sports, and our teams regularly take part in Berkshire Schools events and national ISA/IAPS and knockout tournaments. We are committed to maintaining a strong sporting reputation, striving for excellence while ensuring that every pupil experiences the enjoyment and values that sport brings.

Families are warmly welcomed to lend their support from the sidelines, helping to create the vibrant sense of community that defines our match days. This shared enthusiasm not only celebrates our pupils’ achievements but also strengthens the spirit that runs through Crosfields sport.

Our PE & Games programme offers an exceptional, well‑structured curriculum that inspires pupils to excel. Through dynamic lessons, dedicated training sessions and a wide range of competitive opportunities, pupils develop teamwork, discipline and a lifelong appreciation for physical wellbeing. The programme nurtures confidence, resilience and leadership, while also fostering a strong sense of pride and belonging within our school community.

Beyond the core programme, pupils have the opportunity to further develop their skills through specialist pathways in athletics, tennis and a wide range of additional sports. This broad and inclusive offering ensures that every Senior pupil enjoys a rich and varied sporting journey, helping them build fitness, confidence and valuable life skills that stay with them long after they leave the pitch.

Swimming continues to play an important role in our Senior School programme. Several development squads run before school, led by specialist swimming staff who support pupils in refining technique, building stamina and progressing at their own pace. Alongside this, our Social Swim sessions offer a relaxed and enjoyable opportunity for pupils to swim lengths under the guidance of a qualified member of staff, without the pressure of competition.

We also take part in swimming galas throughout the year against other schools, giving pupils regular chances to represent the school in a supportive and spirited environment. For those who wish to pursue swimming further, we enter a range of national competitions, providing exciting opportunities for pupils to challenge themselves at a higher level.
