Quiz Club Science Championships: Year 5 and 6 Shine Bright!

This year, our brilliant Year 5 and 6 pupils have taken on the challenge of the Quiz Club National Science Championships with incredible enthusiasm and skill. The team selection round saw all pupils giving their best, making the selection process a tough one due to their outstanding performances. We are over the moon to announce that all four Crosfields teams secured a spot in the semi-finals, held on Thursday, 16 January. This is a phenomenal achievement, and we couldn’t be prouder of the children involved.

A Huge Congratulations to:

Team 1: Peter, Nia, Fabian and Kiaan

Team 2: Gracie, Sinry, Youssef and Aran

Team 3: Leo, Yuvaan, Ryan and Tristan

Team 4: Qian-Qian, Joseph, Emily (Felix in semi-finals) and Kanishk

The semi-finals were no walk in the park, presenting our pupils with some very challenging questions. However, they rose to the occasion, answering exceptionally well. The teamwork and communication displayed by all team members were exemplary, with three of our teams securing impressive 4th, 5th, and 10th places in the semi-finals. This is no small feat!

Kiaan, Year 6, one of our enthusiastic participants, shared his thoughts: “Science Quiz Club was a very fun experience. It really tests your brain power but that is the fun of it!” His sentiment was echoed by Fabian, also in Year 6, who said, “Taking part in Science Quiz Club expanded my science knowledge and I know I will be able to use this in the future.”

Mrs Patel, Curriculum Lead Science, who has been guiding the pupils throughout the process, expressed: “Year 5 and 6 pupils worked exceptionally well in the team selection process, heats, and semi-finals. It is such an impressive achievement for all four teams to have secured places in the semi-finals. I am so proud of the children! Best of luck to our Quiz Club Finalists!”

We are bursting with pride for all four teams and are thrilled that three of them will be advancing to the National Quiz Club Finals in June. We wish them the very best of luck and can’t wait to see them shine even brighter!
