Crosfields Celebrates Outstanding GCSE Results

Crosfields School is celebrating another exceptional set of GCSE results, with pupils achieving impressive outcomes across a wide range of subjects and the school’s value-added performance once again recognised among the top 10% nationally. This year’s results mark an important milestone in the school’s history. As the final cohort to complete their journey at Crosfields before the opening of the School’s Sixth Form in September 2027, pupils leave having helped shape a successful and thriving Senior School community.

The results compare particularly favourably with national outcomes, with the proportion of Grade 9s achieved at Crosfields almost four times the national average and the proportion of Grades 8-9 more than three times the national average. The School’s results have also been rated by ALPs value added as being within the top 10% of schools nationally, recognising the outstanding progress and outcomes achieved by Crosfields pupils throughout their school journey.

Three adults look at a sheet of paper together at a school event, with a bright pink Crosfields School banner in the background. Some of the highlights include:
19% of all grades were awarded at Grade 9
39% of grades were awarded at Grades 8-9
90% of grades were awarded at Grades 5-9
97% of grades were awarded at Grades 4-9

Pupils excelled across a number of subjects, including French, where 100% of grades were awarded at 8 or 9. Computer Science saw 89% of grades awarded at 7-9, while 85% of Physics grades and 77% of grades in Chemistry, Spanish, Psychology and Biology were awarded at 7-9.

Several pupils achieved exceptional individual results. Abha was awarded eight Grade 9s, one Grade 8 and an A in Additional Mathematics, while Harveer achieved eight Grade 9s, one Grade 7 and A grades in both HPQ and Additional Mathematics. Evgeniya and Lucy each secured seven Grade 9s and two Grade 8s.

Two people smile as they hold a paper together at a GCSE results day event, with a staff member guiding them, and a black-and-white balloon arch behind. Mrs Caroline Townshend, Head, said: “What makes these results particularly special is that they reflect not only academic excellence, but the individual journeys of our pupils and our commitment to ensuring every child is supported to achieve their very best. This cohort also marks the end of an era. With our new Sixth Form opening in September 2027, they are the final pupils who will leave Crosfields after Year 11. We could not be prouder of their academic success, character, ambition and contribution to school life, all of which have prepared them exceptionally well for the exciting opportunities ahead.”

Mr James Bown, Deputy Head Academic (Seniors), added: “These fantastic achievements extend far beyond examination results. Our pupils have been leaders, role models and active contributors to our community, helping to shape the Senior School we see today. We are delighted to see their hard work and determination rewarded with such excellent outcomes. They leave Crosfields having made a lasting contribution to our community, and we wish every one of them every success as they embark on their next chapter.”

Three people (an adult woman, a young girl, and an adult man) lean in and smile as they read a document together at a school setting with a Crossfields banner in the background. As pupils celebrate their achievements and prepare for the next stage of their educational journeys, the entire Crosfields community congratulates them on their success and wishes them every happiness and success for the future. Families interested in finding out more about Crosfields are warmly invited to attend the School’s Open Morning on Saturday 26 September. Those interested in the new Sixth Form can visit the Sixth Form Information Evening on Tuesday 29 September. To book your place at either event visit: www.crosfields.com/visit
